25% of the surgeries performed by our surgeons are hair transplantations for beard, moustache and burn scars or the patients who had surgeries before. Nowadays, very positive results are achieved because of advanced techniques, which are also used by our surgeons. Most patients have limited amount of hairs in the donor area, so each hear must be removed really carefully. Beard is not alike hair and differs from person to person. At some point, a patchy bearded man may not suffer from the situation. That is why very sick beard is not generally needed in the transplantation.
The procedure can be performed on areas where hair growth is thin, and more fullness is desired.
Normally, beard hairs grow in groups of one or two. As hairs are harvested at the right angel and proper direction with FUE technique, it is hard to tell them apart from the original hair. If there are not enough hair follicles on the back of the neck, they can be removed from other parts of the body.
Hair transplant is performed when the hairs do not grow on the beard and moustache or in case of hair loss on these areas. Hair follicles are taken from the back of the neck. Only FEO method is applied in hair transplants. The donor and recipient areas are washed after 2 days. New beard appears within 2-3 days. No scars are left on the donor areas. You may experience temporary hair loss on some part of the harvested beard or moustache after 3 weeks. After 2.5 or 6 months lost hairs will regrow. You can cut the new hairs while shaving, however, it should be 8 or 9 days after the transplantation. Facial hair transplantation is done under local anesthesia.
